Nrep & Velo Capital

investment internship program

The internships consist of working in one of the teams within our investment organization and supporting our professionals in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, executing transactions, managing the existing portfolio, and developing our business.

During the internship, you will be a full-time member of our investment organization and participate in different phases of the investment lifecycle. This includes analysing specific markets, investment opportunities and/or existing portfolios, and preparing materials for decision-making.

You will be guided and supported by senior colleagues, and the internship will build your analysis, problem-solving, presentation and collaboration skills as well as give you an overview of investment process as a part of a highly skilled, non-hierarchical team. These skills are valuable to anyone considering a career in, e.g., private equity, investment management, investment banking, management consulting or real estate.

Our investment teams in Helsinki and Stockholm offer internships of 3 to 5 months for fall and spring periods. Please follow our open positions to keep up to date with our application schedules.

Application periods for the next internships are following:

  • Helsinki: August-September 2024
  • Stockholm: August-September 2024

We hire interns in both the Nrep and Velo Capital investment teams through the program. Nrep is a leading European private equity real estate investor who drives change for people and planet. Velo Capital is a real estate credit specialist that enables ideas advancing the transition to sustainable communities. Both are part of Urban Partners that, with close to €21bn under management, invests in assets, companies, technologies, and credit solutions.

Part-time roles for students

We offer long-term, part-time student roles and temporary trainee positions within various teams and functions. For instance, our investment, finance, asset management, investor relations, and sustainability teams frequently have openings for students in different offices.

If you are working alongside your studies, the typical working hours are between 15 and 20 hours per week, with some flexibility. As our company continues to grow, students often have the opportunity to transition into full-time positions after graduation. Working while studying allows you to gain valuable industry experience and explore your interests before completing your degree.

  • David Berggren, Investment Intern

I decided to join Nrep because of its strong reputation in the real estate private equity sector. The company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and making a positive impact in the communities it operates in aligns with my values.

Joining Nrep provides a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization that is shaping the future of real estate. For someone in their early career, Nrep offers a supportive environment for learning and growth, exposure to diverse and challenging projects, and mentorship from industry leaders.

During my internship at Nrep, I gained valuable insights into real estate private equity, honed my analytical skills, and learned to navigate the complexities of deal-making. The exposure to sustainable and socially responsible investment practices has broadened my perspective on the role of business in society. Additionally, working within a collaborative team has enhanced my communication and teamwork skills, providing a solid foundation for my future career in the industry. (fall 2023)

  • Noora Räsänen

    Noora Räsänen, Investment Analyst

I initially applied to Nrep’s Investment Intern program as I was eager to get exposure on the real estate industry and private equity transactions. What really impressed me was the atmosphere at Nrep – I was welcomed as a full team member since day one and my colleagues were genuinely keen to support my development throughout the internship, also offering me opportunities to take responsibility in my work.

  • Julius Alanne

    Julius Alanne, Investment Analyst

Three things made me want to rejoin Nrep after my internship: firstly opportunity to work in small and agile deal teams with loads of responsibility, secondly the healthy and fun working culture and finally Nrep’s innovativeness in offering cutting edge real estate products in the Nordic market.
